Ancelotti’s response when asked if Everton will sign Isco

Premier League Questioned by English media

Isco is contemplating a Real Madrid January departure and Carlo Ancelotti has been asked if he would sign his former player for his new team at Everton. The Italian coach praised the Spanish midfielder, but categorically dismissed the rumours linking Isco with a move to the Premier League side, stressing that Everton are not focused on the January transfer window for the time being.

“[A move for] Isco is a rumour [coming] from the media and not one that came from our side because we are not talking about the transfer market at this period,” Ancelotti said at a press conference.

“We are talking about our problems and we are trying to solve these problems. Apart from this, Isco was my player at Real Madrid. He is a fantastic player, but he is a Real Madrid player.”

As MARCA reported on Friday night, Isco is open to listening to offers this winter. His decision is respected by Zinedine Zidane and Real Madrid, both understanding his position as the Spanish midfielder is lacking playing time at Los Blancos.
