Atletico vs Barcelona – LaLiga Barcelona win when he starts
Pjanic, against Dinamo Kiev.
It’s all or nothing for Miralem Pjanic at Barcelona. The Bosnian is faced with a huge opportunity at the Camp Nou to take Sergio Busquets’ position after the Spain international picked up an injury to rule him out for between seven and 10 days.
Ronald Koeman and his coaching staff are keen on the idea of the former Juventus star accompanying Frenkie de Jong in the Catalans’ midfield. Pjanic and De Jong have only played together twice in Koeman’s XI so far. The first of those came against Ferencvaros at the Camp Nou, when Pjanic played 75 minutes before handing over to Busquets.
Then came the trip to Turin, where Pjanic started against his former club. Barcelona overwhelmed the Italian champions, comfortably brushing aside the Old Lady.
He also started in the win against Dynamo Kyiv, meaning that all three of the matches he has played from the beginning have ended in Blaugrana victories. Now, up against Atletico Madrid, he can seal his place in the team going forward.
Pjanic knows Atleti well. He has faced them in each of the last two Champions League campaigns, playing an important part in the famous 2018/19 comeback in Turin.
