Formula 1 Preparing for first season with Italian giants
After replacing Sebastian Vettel as Charles Leclerc’s partner at Ferrari for the 2021 Formula 1 season, Carlos Sainz has reflected on the move and failed to hide his excitement.
Sainz will finally get behind the wheel of a Ferrari car next week, with the Spaniard having the opportunity to complete a testing session with the SF71-H from the 2018 season, which will take place at the Fiorano circuit.
It is very close to Ferrari’s Maranello factory and will be vital for the driver and the team given the fact there will be limited opportunities for testing ahead of the new season.
The 2018 car was chosen as the chassis was immediately available, and it was also used for testing prior to the 2020 season as well.
“These days at the factory are something very special, putting the red overalls on and getting into the simulator, there are many details which make you feel special,” Sainz declared in an Instagram Q and A.
“I go to sleep every night wondering about my Ferrari car and how it will compare to my other F1 cars.
“I’m just looking forward to driving it now.”
