Inter vs Real Madrid: Conte fumes ahead of Inter hosting Real Madrid

Inter vs Real Madrid Happy to win, but demanding more

Antonio Conte was his usual self on Sunday after Inter came from 2-0 behind to beat Torino 4-2, stressing the importance of mental strength and determination as well as technical skills.

Inter host Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday, and no doubt they would have preferred a more comfortable game in preparation. Conte, though, was far from content, going as far as to call technique “useless” without “determination” and the desire to “make games difficult for the opponents”.

“The 2-0 [deficit] would kill anyone, but we showed that we have something important in terms of our character,’ Conte told DAZN. “Sometimes we have to work to find it. It wasn’t easy. But I’m happy with the comeback and the four goals. “You have to be willing to play. We’re not at that point yet, I hope they [the players] know this.

“I agree with what Romelu [Lukaku] said: we’re not a great team yet.” Inter’s attention now turns to the game against the Spanish champions, knowing that they need a win with just two points from three Champions League games so far.
