James move to Everton branded the 'theft of the century'

James Rodriguez has only been working under Carlo Ancelotti at Everton for a month but he has already taken the Premier League by storm.

In just 30 days, the Colombian has already proven every one of his doubters wrong and has been chosen in several XIs of the summer’s best signings.

James has been named man of the match in each of Everton’s games against Tottenham, West From, Crystal Palace and Brighton, as well as being nominated for the Premier League’s player of the month award for September.

So impressive have his early performances been that some corners of the English press have branded his arrival as “the theft of the century”.

Few can believe that a player of James’ quality was available to be signed for just 25 million euros because of the situation he had found himself at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

Sporting Life were tasked with giving life to the above headline about the Colombian.

“He has posed a significant threat in every match,” they wrote.

“It could be the steal of the century by Everton if this form continues.”

In just one month on Merseyside, James has surpassed the previous 12 months he had spent in Madrid.

In just five games in England, James has already scored three goals and contributed as many assists as well.

The impact the Colombian has had has seen the Toffees take top spot in the Premier League table at these still early stages.

Next up for Everton is a meeting with cross-city rivals Liverpool at Goodison Park after the international break.

Everton supporters will be hoping that their new star can continue his recent form against Jurgen Klopp’s side to add to the Reds’ recent woes after they suffered a 7-2 humiliation against Aston Villa.
