Juventus have confirmed that Alex Sandro has tested positive for coronavirus. The defender had been suffering with mild symptoms and is now self-isolating after the positive test.

There is concern within the Juventus camp that some of Sandro’s other teammates could be at risk of infection too. The Brazilian started and played 83 minutes during Juve’s win over Udinese on Sunday.

“The Club is in contact with the Health Authorities to define an effective implementation of the protocols required to allow for the training and competition activities of the Team,” Juventus said in a statement.

The whole of Andrea Pirlo’s squad will undergo further COVID-19 tests before Wednesday’s crucial meeting with AC Milan in Serie A.

As well as Sandro, Pirlo could be without Alvaro Morata for the match. The striker missed out on Sunday’s game because of a muscular problem.
