The Los Angeles Lakers are interested in signing Marc Gasol, according to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.

Gasol is a free agent as his contract with the Toronto Raptors expired at the end of the 2019/20 season.

The veteran center and 2019 NBA champion with the Raptors recently said he wants to join a title contender and not a rebuilding team.

For their part, the defending champions want to bolster their frontline ahead of the new season.
