Transfer Market Three year deal on the table
Rojo with Manchester United.
Marcos Rojo is one step away from leaving Manchester United and signing for Boca Juniors, having agreed a three-year deal in principle and only needing an agreement to rescind his current contract.
Rojo spent 2020 on loan with boyhood club Estudiantes, but saw his time there interrupted by injury and the Covid-19 pandemic, and has a contract at Manchester United until June 2021.
The defender is not in United’s plans for the remainder of the season and the only question is whether they will allow him to terminate his contract early.
Boca are keen to have the player now, rather than wait until June, and Rojo has given them his word, but Manchester United might want to try to negotiate his sale rather than allow him to leave for free.
The 30-year-old has been a Boca target for a while now and was pictured recently wearing a Boca jersey and admitted that club vice-president Juan Roman Riquelme called him about a move months ago.
Rojo’s days in England are numbered and it seems just a matter of when he will be free to join Boca.
