Netflix has just presented its long-awaited list with the movie premieres for the 2021 calendar year.

It is a list of more than 70 movies covering all genres and including Hollywood stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Dwayne Johnson, Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams, among others.

Filmmaker Adam McKay’s ‘Don’t Look Up’ features an impressive cast including Cate Blanchett, Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence and Timothee Chalamet, accompanied by international pop stars such as Ariana Grande and Kid Cudi.

Fans of action thrillers will have at their disposal ‘Red Notice’, starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds, and ‘Army of the Dead’, directed by Zack Snyder.

‘Kate’, starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, as well as ‘The Last Mercenary’, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, ‘Sweet Girl’, with Jason Momoa, and ‘O2’, directed by Alexandre Aja and starring Melanie Laurent, are some of the most-anticipated movies to premiere in 2021.

In addition, Chris Hemsworth stars in science-fiction movie ‘Escape From Spiderhead’, while ‘Fear Street’ and ‘Night Teeth’ are two horror movies which stand out.

Netflix has also promoted movies which are either starring or directed by women.

‘Bruised’ is the first movie directed by and starring Halle Berry, with Amy Adams being the protagonist of ‘The Woman in the Window’ and ‘Moxie’ being directed and produced by Amy Poehler.

‘Beauty’, starring Niecy Nash and Aleyse Shannon, ‘The last letter from your lover’, directed by Augustine Frizzell and starring Felicity Jones, the comedy ‘Thunder Force’ with Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer or ‘Rescue Distance’, written and directed by Claudia Llosa and starring Maria Valverde and Dolores Fonzi, are some of the movies with women as central characters.

‘Malcolm & Marie’ which is directed by Sam Levinson and starring Zendaya and John David Washington, the long-awaited Marilyn Monroe biopic ‘Blonde’, starring Ana de Armas and produced by Brad Pitt, or ‘The Hand of God’, written and directed by Paolo Sorrentino, are movies which no cinephile should miss.

In addition, Idris Elba is the main protagonist of the western ‘The Harder They Fall’, produced by Jay Z, with Priyanka Chopra featuring in ‘White Tiger’ and Kelvin Harrison Jr. in ‘Monster’.

Younger audiences can enjoy movies such as ‘The Kissing Booth 3’, with Joey King and Jacob Elordi, and ‘To All The Boys: Always And Forever’, with Lana Condor and Noah Centineo.

Meanwhile, the family movies that stand out are ‘Hoy si’, with Jennifer Garner and Edgar Ramirez, ‘Double Dad’, ‘Back to the Outback’ and ‘Tick, Tick… Boom!’, directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
