Okafor, 24, only played 30 games for the New Orleans Pelicans last season, averaging 8.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.
The Pistons have now signed two centers in free agency in Mason Plumlee and Okafor.
With the addition of those two big men, Christian Wood will be signing elsewhere in free agency, as he will have several potential suitors.
