Rene Ramos, brother and agent of Sergio Ramos, has waded into the debate surrounding the defender’s contract situation at Real Madrid.

The 34-year-old has just six months remaining on his deal at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and, with still no news on an extension, he’s free to speak to other clubs in January.

“Someone will have to explain how and why we’ve got to this stage, allowing your captain, one of the legends of Real Madrid, to appear in absurd teams of players who can freely sign for another club right now,” said journalist Alfredo Duro on Twitter.

Rene Ramos retweeted Duro’s tweet, seeming to place the blame on Real Madrid’s side for not yet agreeing to renew the captain’s contract.

The Ramos family, therefore, have made it clear that they are waiting for the club to make them an acceptable offer.
