The Adams-to-Pelicans trade includes the Denver Nuggets, which traded a 2023 lottery protected first round pick for the No. 24 pick (RJ Hampton) on draft night, Wojnarowski notes.

That 2023 pick is headed to the Thunder via the Pelicans, while Hampton will remain with the Nuggets.

Adams, 27, should slot right in as the starting center, as the Pelicans just lost big men Derrick Favors to the Utah Jazz and Jahlil Okafor to the Detroit Pistons in free agency.

Adams averaged 10.9 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in 63 games last season.

With the Pelicans taking on Adams’ salary, it seems likely that they will be sending away at least one of the point guards, Eric Bledsoe or George Hill, who they acquired in the Jrue Holiday trade with the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Thunder, meanwhile, have now traded away Chris Paul, Dennis Schroder and Adams as they look to build for the future.
