Donald Trump supporters have stormed Capitol Hill in a bid to stop Joe Biden from officially becoming president of the United States of America.
The scenes have gone worldwide, with some 30,000 people having surrounded the building before fighting with police and breaking down security barriers.

It took the president almost an hour to pronounce on the invasion of the Capitol.

When the invasion of the Capitol began, the Senate stopped sitting and the legislators were withdrawn to a safe area inside the building.
Because the police used pepper spray, in addition to protesters who also threw some kind of gas, they removed the legislators using gas masks.
The capital’s mayor, Muriel Bowser, ordered a curfew after pro-Trump protesters sought to force their way into the Capitol.
It will begin at 6:00 pm Eastern time.
CNN has just reported that shots were fired inside the Capitol and a woman is seriously injured.
Here we see two policemen pointing at a protestor who entered the Capitol, apparently with a gun, and was trying to get to the session hall.
Muriel Bowser, the mayor of Washington DC, has called for the arrival of the national guard to try to dissipate the protest outside the Capitol.
Several media outlets mention that up to 20 people managed to cross the Capitol fence. Reuters have a photo of one who was arrested for entering the building.
Today, January 6, the Senate was counting the votes from the polling stations in order for Joe Biden’s presidency to be confirmed.
Outside the Congress building, Trump called on his supporters to demonstrate against the election ‘fraud’.
The protest got out of control and some people managed to penetrate the perimeter of the Capitol.
