Valencia brings back forward Puerto – News

Valencia Basket exercised its option to bring back small forward Josep Puerto to its roster, the club announced Monday. Puerto (1.99 meters, 21 years old) was sent on loan to TAU Castello in the Spanish second division, and did not play any official games with his former team this season. Puerto already played for Castello in the 2019-20 season, averaging 7.1 points in 24 games. He joined Valencia at age 13 and has played in each of its youth teams, making his first squad debut in a 7DAYS EuroCup game against Proximus Spirou Charleroi on December 16, 2015. Puerto averaged 0.9 points in 10 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games in the 2017-18 season, and has been a member of the Spanish U16, U18 and U20 national teams. He helped Spain win a silver medal at the 2019 U20 European Championships.
